Our Programs and Services

We offer holistic centered wrap around services to individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait.

We provide families affected by sickle cell disease or trait with wraparound certified case management services by licensed professionals that includes health, transportation, basic needs assistance, limited emergency financial assistance, counseling and holistic support.

We provide individuals and families with medical case management. This assistance includes specific assistance with medical needs, medical home placement, medical referrals, specialty referrals, health education, doctor referrals and advocacy.

We provide a specialized week-long camp for children with sickle cell disease ages 6-14 every August for children from Central Texas, San Antonio and the Texas Gulf Coast, which provides disease management education, mental health support and provides respite for families.

Transitioning from pediatric to adult care is a very challenging and complex time. We have years of experience in successful transition through case management services, referrals, support groups, education, career development, pain management education, mental health counseling and our premier transitional bootcamp, Camp Next Level.

We offer free sickle cell screening for individuals wanting to learn if they have sickle cell trait or to verify their type of sickle cell disease. We also provide certified hemoglobinopathy education which provides detailed genetic and condition education relating to sickle cell disease or trait. Providing sickle cell awareness will take us one step closer to a cure.

We provide professional and continuing education to health professionals, social workers, emergency room departments, doctors, teachers, clinics and other organizations. Professional education focuses on removing stigmas, prejudice, patient concerns, mental health counseling, ethics and improving lives of affected by chronic conditions.

Counseling

We offer counseling services from our social workers to those who may need it along with their family members. Most insurance plans are accepted. Sliding scale fee rates are available to those without insurance.
